James A. Brucato and Mark E. Augustyn, owners of Principle Construction Corp., are pleased to announce that the firm recently completed a 19,375 square foot build-out for Schneider Electric of North America (SENA) located at 839 N. Perryville Road in Rockford, Illinois.
Principle was selected by property owner, Spring Creek Development Group, to remodel an existing two (2) story office building to accommodate SENA on the first floor and lower level as well as multiple tenants on the second floor.
SENA, a global specialist in energy management, relocated from Loves Park, Illinois. Interior improvements included the build-out of 19,375 square feet to accommodate Schneider’s laboratory operations and office space needs. The project allowed Schneider to relocate their building management design division including their performance/testing labs. The lower level was reconfigured with individual electrical, mechanical and valve testing labs. HVAC cooling system was increased by 33.5 tons, electrical service was increased to 1600 amps to handle the increased cooling and electrical loads required for their testing operations. The first floor improvements were designed to accommodate engineering, design and customer support which was upgraded and remodeled to fit SENA’s office requirements. A special equipment access pit was constructed to allow specialized oversized equipment to be lowered into the lower level lab areas. The project also included a complete re-design of SENA’s specialized custom valve and actuator testing equipment chambers and flow testing “wet” wall.
Mike Long of Principle Construction stated “I enjoyed the challenge of working with SENA’s group of engineers to re-design and reconfigure their existing lab operations and equipment to fit into a smaller and more efficient footprint. We achieved great success due to close collaboration and flexibility between Principle and SENA’s team of engineers; it was a pleasure to work with a great group of professionals.”
Mike Long served as Director of Project Management for Principle Construction Corp. and Heitman Architects provided architectural services for the project.
